WHY
Synopsis:

“Boundary of Disaster” is a passion project that explores the split seconds during a crash, based on a memoir about a near-catastrophic event on a racetrack. Inspired by Sir Stirling Moss’s quote, “To achieve anything, you must be prepared to dabble on the boundary of disaster,” the story mixes this close call with a personal tale of obsessive overwork in the quest for perfection. It delves into the drive to surpass achievements and push limits, often at a high cost, mirroring a race against time and making us question what we truly value. This project combines film, full CG stills, live-action filming, and an audio story.

Boundary of Disaster

"Boundary of Disaster" is a film adaptation of a memoir recounting a near-catastrophic event on the race track. The narrowly averted disaster is interwoven with a personal story of relentless self-imposed overwork in the pursuit of excellence. The film explores the obsessive quest to surpass achievements, set new benchmarks, and push beyond personal limits — all at an often unnoticed cost. This relentless pursuit mirrors a race against time, prompting us to question what we truly value.

What is the Boundary of Disaster?

In racing lore, the 'Boundary of Disaster' represents the razor-thin edge between unparalleled speed and catastrophic failure. Those daring enough to tread this line might encounter the 'Mist of Time', an elusive phenomenon granting passage to different racing eras. While many view it as a myth, whispers among racers suggest its reality.
